Abstract

A sack or bag with square bottom is produced from a flat sack with folding sections made from plastic with the snack having the bottom at its rear facing end section. The flat sack with folding sections is laid on to a turnable drum and is continuously moved on at a pre-determined forward speed. During this process gripping devices to fasten on to the rear closed end section and to form the square bottom from the rear closed end section (7) towards the open front end section (307) are subjected to a greater forward speed in relation to the rotation speed of the drum and therefore also to the forward speed of the whole bag.
