Abstract

The tyre is provided in addition to the usual reinforcing layers with an additional reinforcing layer which extends about the entire inner wall of the tyre is folded about the beads and terminates in the central region of the side walls, whereby the layer is arranged such that it extends from the inner wall adjacent the beads progressively outwardly along the side walls and then inwardly again towards the inner wall opposite the tread section. In the uninflated state of the tyre the tyre walls have a collapsed configuration which prevents heat generation and cutting of side walls during puncture. Field tests have shown that driving of car at 45 mph. over a distance of 300 miles has produced no visible ill effect on the tyres in a deflated state.
