Abstract

The surgical derotator fits on the lower limb of a patient as a corrective measure. It is adjustable for length and position, depending on requirements. The upper part comprises a brace or strap around the pelvis, a clevis joint being attached to it. An articulated adaptor in this holds another clevis at 90 deg. to the first. This second clevis is connected to a rod, the other end having an identical clevis joint arrangement which fits onto a brace or strap around the lower knee. This brace is held by a support fitting around the ankle or under the patient's instep.
