Abstract

Said device is mounted in a hollow floor consisting of a supporting lower floor and of a covering floor which is supported thereon and can be walked on, and has a frame (11) which is to be recessed in an individually removable covering floor panel (14) and has a removable cover (51) for protection and for allowing access to electrical connecting elements (35, 38, 39). A transfer bridge (47) for passing electrical cables (46) out from the connecting elements to electrical loads or communications apparatuses arranged above the floor is arranged between the frame (11) and the cover (51). An upwardly projecting rim (53), whose upper edge is approximately flush with the top of a floor covering (54) which is fitted on the cover (51), runs along the circumference of the cover (51). The frame (11) has an outer flange (12) from whose outermost circumference a rim (20) likewise projects upwards. The upper edge of the latter is at the same height as that of the rim (53) of the cover (51). The outer flange (12) of the frame (11) is supported on a bearing shoulder (15) which is located lower than the top of the covering floor panel (14), so that the upper edge of the rim (20) of the frame (11) is approximately flush with the top of a floor covering (21) of the covering floor panel (14). The electrical connecting elements (35, 38, 39) are expediently not installed until the connecting device is in its final location.
