Abstract

A member for inserting in a hole in a sheet so as to form a buffer, grommet, sealing block etc., has a middle layer (1) made of rubber or flexib le synthetic material such as foam, between two outer layers (2, 3) of thin metal or other hard substance. The dimensions may be the same or different, so that one plate (3) may be of a different shape to the other plate (2). One or both plates and the resilient core (1) may have a hole through it. One plate may not be flat, a wide variety of shapes being possible. The outer plates may be cross shaped (5). The whole may be curved to match a curved sheet (4). When there is a hole through the member, a tube or rod can be passed through.
