Abstract
The heat-transfer equipment has one or more finned tubes, the fine running in the longitudinal direction. The fins (12) taper from the tube towards their free lengthwise edges, at which they have thickened portions (16). The tube and fins can be in one piece, and it can have an annular tube core (10), the fins extending radially outwards from it. There can also be further fins (14) extending radially inwards inside the core. The external fins can taper steadily towards their outer edges, or at a decreasing rate, in the latter case each side forming a concave heat transfer surface of the same radius. Transverse fins can also be provided at regular intervals along the external ones.
