Abstract

The urinal is used for bed ridden patients, who must remain in the laying down position. Both male and female types have an upper part (3) suitably shaped to conform to the genitals and at a slight inclination to the horizontal, the front (5) being higher. This upper part has a rounded end (7), deflecting the urine into a hollow stem (2) leading into the lower container (1). This stem inclines rearwards and enables the urinal to be placed between the thighs. The lower container has a flat base (10) and a connection (9) for a flexible tube, the urine emptying into a receptacle under the bed.
