Abstract

The water is supplied to the fields through the control valve (15). The valve is actuated by means of a sensing element (5) which has a length varying with humidity. The element operates against the counter-weight. The element obtains moisture from the ground through an absorber which receives water from the soil by capillary action. The absorber (13) is buried in the soil in an appropriate position. A bi-metallic strip is installed in the system in order to mullify the movements of the sensing element due to changes in temperature.
