Abstract

Mfr. of insulating panels from a compacted, (resin-) bonded fibrous matting of desired thickness comprises subjecting the panel to a thickness-reducing treatment on >=1 side to ensure that its thickness is uniform throughout. Alternatively, both sides may be treated in this way. The thickness-reducing treatment may be by grinding. In a variant, this may be effected to impart to the prod. an irregular thickness and/or a structured surface.
