Abstract

the electrical connector has first and second rigid insulating supports (2,28) having, respectively, engaging resilient contacts (3) and conducting tracks (5) when the two supports are connected together. The first support has a control mechanism which acts on the contacts alternately in senses which cause the contacts to open and close. The mechanism has a slide (10,11) which translates relative to the first support and is connected to a contact which has a hinge portion. Each contact is movable with the slide without play between them. Two recti linear parts (3b) of the contact are inclined to each other and to the direction of translation and are guided by the slide. The junction of the two parts form an active region (4) of the contact through which the contact engages the conducting track.
