Abstract

The hand aid equipment is for cripples suffering paralysis of the finger muscles, and allows grasping using the tenodesis effect. It comprises a finger piece (1), a hand piece (6), a front arm piece (14) and an artificial tendon (17), all pivoting together. The finger piece can have a palm face running from the fingertips to the palm joint, so as to form a three-finger grip with the thumb. The index and middle fingers have their pads offset, and the open dorsal face accommodates a strap preventing dislocation of the first finger joints. The proximal end is formed on the side faces of the pivot joints.
