Abstract

Thermoplastic containers are blown, filled and closed at a compact combined operations station. A blowing nozzle and coaxial filling pipe are stroke adjustable and common-ram actuated. The nozzle seats in the container preform neck. The filling pipe is pressure-set one-way valved. A stroke adjusted ram (17) drives a filling pipe (22) supported by bushes (27,35) and guided and valved (23) fitting into the mould (47) which is surrounded by a preformed holder (49). The ram also drives the guide rod (28) and seats an adjustable blowing nozzle (38), with annular (40) injection (42) and discharge (45). The inlet valve (43) opens for blow forming (50'), then closes. Contents filling valve (23) and blowing discharge valve (44) open; after filling, the valves and another one-way valve (46) close. The container is sealed (48).
