Abstract

The object is to replace estimated lengths of installed cable with an accurate measure of the same. For this purpose the cable threading aid, for example a flexible rod or strip of metal or synthetic material, is passed through a die stamping system which permanently marks off set lengths and can also number these if a counting mechanism is added. This threading strip is pushed through the cable duct or conduit, with the cable attached, until it emerges at the required outlet. The length of cable can then be read off by reference to the markings made.
