Abstract

Moisture-hardening one-component polymeric compsns. based on liquid polysulphides and using as catalyst MuO2 which is dried before incorporation. Amount of MuO2 added is 2-20 wt. % based on the polymer, and water content of the MuO2 is 0.1% max. Used as joint sealants, mastics for glazing of windows, etc. Use of predried MnO2 gives rapid hardening and excellent UV resistance and adhesion to glass exposed to UV light, combined with long storage life before exposure to moisture.
