Abstract

The mechanism feeds a machine assembling a cardboard packing, having a platform supporting a stack of cardboard sheets to be shaped one by one in an extension of the machine working area, and working in conjunction with a lifting mechanism. The width of the platform (13) is minimal, being roughly equal to the minimum dimensions of the package. It works in conjunction with one or more complementary supporting members, extending parallel to and in front of it. These members (15, 16, 17) normally rest on the ground, and are arranged to follow the platform selectively and remain at the same level as it rises and sinks. They thus increase the width of the supporting surface formed to suit the dimensions of the stack of sheets.
