Auxiliary device for use with a feed grinder by means of which maize cobs may be comminuted, has a revolving impact knife operating within a sieve and with a feed guide projecting into the grinding chamber, has an additional tubular material feed (5). The additional material feed (5) opens into the peripheral region of at least one pre-comminuter device (12) which is mounted on a support disc (11) within the grinder chamber (6). The additional tubular material feed (5) is mounted at an angle to the direction of rotation of the comminuting tool (10).
