Abstract

The lightweight dish washing appliance comprises a housing (1) containing an electric motor and a pump, a sprinkler (7), a flexible cover (8) and distribution pipework. Dishes to be washed remain in a conventional sink (5), and the appliance sprinkles and recirculates water previously provided in the sink. The motor and pump unit (1) is supported (9) above the sink with pipework (6) leading water from the sink into the pump and sprinkler. The cover (8) is installed over the sink (5) and contg. the sprinkler (7). The sprinkler may be integrated with the unit (1), and the electric motor may be used to emit warm air. The pump may be a centrifugal pipe, and the sink may have an inclined base with a special washer outlet. The sink plug may have a lifting hook and a screen.
