Abstract

A multi-pair telephone cable has high temp. properties. It has insulating material which is non-flammable, does not give off toxic gases or dense smoke at high ambient temps. The cable has multi-pair conductors, with low pressure polyethylene insulating material. The insulated conductors are protected by three layers of tape. There are also an inside sheath of non-inflammable silicone elastomer, a screen of steel mesh and an external sheath of non-flammable silicone elastomer. The internal sheath, the screen and the external sheath provide mechanical and thermal protection.
