Abstract

The artificial finger nail is intended for use in conjunction with a cosmetic glove of skin coloured plastic. It can equally be used as a simple prothesis on an injured finger (1). It comprises the nail, made from plastic resin coloured in the mass, and a male stud (3) of metal or plastic, fixed underneath the artificial nail by means of a methacrylic resin (4). This cooperates with a female housing (5) implanted in the bone of the injured finger, at the tip. The nail is easily removable when required and can be replaced when damaged or deteriorated through use.
