Abstract

The toothbrush which can be designed for electric or mechanical drive means is provided with a handle (1) which is curved towards the rear end and towards the head (2, 3) supporting the bristles to form an arc (8) whilst the end (10) of the handle and the centre of the two-part head (2, 3) lie on a common axis of rotation X-Y (9). This axis of rotation can then be set in oscillating motion by a suitable drive means which can be fitted onto the end (10) of the handle, this oscillating movement being imparted to the bristle head at the top of the brush. An additional movement of the brush up and down the teeth can be produced by hand.
