Abstract

Pneumatic tyre is formed with sockets on its side walls and spikes can be fitted in the sockets so that they contact the ground to improve the grip. Pref. the spikes are held in position in the sockets by a bolt. The thread may be covered by a cap. The tyre can provide a good grip on all different kinds of terrain.
