Abstract

The insulating slot liner assembly, for a rotating machine, consists of a circle of individual U-shaped liners (12) linked by a central ring (16). The assembly is moulded in one piece from plastic and the liners pushed into the corresponding slots in the laminar rotor by a series of suitably shaped pistons. The ring is removed and serves only to hold the liners together before insertion. In another version the ring is on the outside of the circle of liners. Each liner has the ends of its arms bending over inwards. The liners are relatively short: the entire length of a slot is insulated by pushing several liners into it.
