Abstract

Anti-dazzle screens (20, 21) are mounted on extending supports under the roof of the car, to extend over the inside of the windscreen when required. A light sensor (37) monitors the light from oncoming vehicles, or from the sun. If the intensity exceeds a set value then the servo drive moves the screens into position. The screens can be polarising filters or tinted plastic. The drive is electric, pneumatic or mechanical. The system relieves the driver of the adjustment of any visors, and allows maximum visibility when not driving into the light.
