Abstract

A fabric for an awning having a cross pole and an overhang tube, is provided, for fastening to the pole and the tube, with a tubular edging hem, which is woven along both sides of the fabric, running in the direction of the warp, and forming its lateral limits; or each edge may have a narrow selvedge. For the mfr. of frontal and side hanging screens, a fabric may be woven with two additional tubes down the centre of the piece, separated by a narrow strip for cutting. The fabric is simpler to produce and requires less material. It looks better and the chances of its having to be repaired are reduced.
