Abstract

The sealing batten is esp. suitable for noise insulation on a partition wall, in relation to th adjacent ceiling, floor and side walls. It consists of a strip-shaped batten of soft elastic material, with lengthways aligned hollow bulges protruding from one side. The bulges (12) have their interfacing sidewalls converging in a point (14) giving them a triangular cross-sectional configuration. The side (19) of the triangle at the edge of the batten (11) may have a rounded-off piece (16) continuing into the triangle base (15), which is formed by the edge part of the batten. The batten may be made of cellular or other soft rubber, with a sealed skin. The apex of the triangle penetrates into any uneven areas, affording a highly effective sound insulation.
