Abstract

The expanded-core panel is manufactured by placing the cladding in position in a mould, after which its internal faces are evenly covered with a mixture of expansible material and foaming agent. During injection of the mixture the cladding can be held in the vertical position by profiled sections mounted on the sides and lower edges. The injection vessel is then indexed in the intervening space near the bottom and then indexed upwards and at the same time moved from side to side. A fourth profiled section is mounted at the top of the mould after injection is finished, but before complete expansion has taken place.
