Abstract

The lighting unit has a shade enclosing two or more fluorescent tubes. It comprises two lengthwise strips fixed at their upper edges against the plate of the unit and at their ends to transverse portions, which are in turn fixed to the plate. The strips (12) support a number of deflector plates (19, 19', 20, 20') for the lifht, mounted parallel to each other in the transverse direction, and resting on the strips at their ends (21, 21', 22, 22'). The strips can be inclined to the vertical, forming between them an angle open towards the underside, and deflecting the rays from the tubes downwards.
