Abstract

Antithrombotic compsns. contain as active component a new tocopheryl acetylsalicylate of formula (I): (where R1,R2 and R3 are H or Me; A is -CH2CHMe- or -CH=CMe-). Used for prevention and treatment of vascular thromboses by prevention of platelet aggregation. A typical ester, alpha-tocopheryl acetylsalicylate, was prepared in 82% yield by adding acetylsalicyloyl chloride in benzene to alpha-tocopherol dissolved in benzene contg. NEt3. Pref. compsns. contain an ester of formula (I) and the acetylsalicylate of papaverine or ethaverine.
