Abstract

A processing chamber for the freeze drying of food or medicinal prepns. contains a number of shelves on which the flasks or bottles are supported. Each shell has pins at two opposite ends which engage in slots in vertical walls. These walls can be moved sideways in guide rams, the shelves can be moved vertically by a power ram arrangement. This accommodates the max possible number of shelves in a min. of space. The height adjustment requires no interruption to the cooling or heating cycle of the chamber and very little labour.
