Abstract

The drinking cup (1) has a built in permanent drinking straw (3). The geometrical relationship of the cup and the straw permits the cup to be drained of liquid contents by suction. The cup and the straw may be of moulded plastics. The length of the straw may be greater than the height of the cup. The top straw opening (4) may lie in a plane perpendicular to the vertical axis of the cup. The bottom opening (5) of the straw may be inclined relative to such planes. The cup (1) may be of truncated cone form with the lesser diameter at the base (6). The straw may be built into the cup walls (2) and lie in a vertical plane. The top of the straw may project above the cup rim, and the apex of the bevelled base of the straw may approach the base of the cup.
