Abstract
The generator has a gas discharge tube, a high voltage grid driven from a voltage multiplying diode- capacitor chain and a circulating air fan, all built into the same housing with a common supply plug built into one end. The supply is intended to be a.c. converted to HV and supplied to the wire grid directly, avoiding the use of a transformer and arranged along the length of the discharge tube which is placed across the body of the unit so that it is exposed by a grill protected window. The capacitors in the chain have a value of 22 pf and the lamp has a 47kOHM limiting resistor.
