Abstract

The contact element for the edge of a printed circuit board, consists of a C-shaped end whose arms engage over the edge of the printed circuit board and two contact pins at right angles to one another and projecting from the spine of the C. The top arm (2) of the C forks downwards into two branches giving an inverted T structure (4). The lower surfaces of the T's crosspieces make two contact regions (5, 6) that touch two corresponding contacts on the printed circuit board. Each contact element therefore connects with two contacts. The structure and material are such that there is no danger of damage to the board because the contact force is relatively small.
