Abstract
The heat exchanger has a continuous belt travelling round two drums, aat least one of which is driven. The belt (1) passes alternately through stale (6, 7) and fresh (8, 9) air conduits, and is of square, rectangular or trapezium section, travelling at a speed between 0.5 and 2 metres per second. It can have hooks, by means of which it is fitted in place or removed. The belt comprises a metal loop in contact with the drums, with wire mesh or hygroscopic fibrous material adhering to it. Alternatively, the absorbent layer is of plastic foam with open cells adhering to the metal belt.
