Abstract

The Al alloy has the compsn. (wt.%) 4.0-6.0 Cw, 2.0-4.0 Cu, 1.0-3.0Si, 0.7-2.0 Mn, 0.05-0.5 Zr, 0.1-0.3 Mg, balance Al, and contains pref. in addn. 0.2-0.7 Sb, 0.25-0.5 Ni and a small amt of 0.2 (total) V, Ti, Cr and Mo. The alloy is suitable for castings which are dense and are subjected to high temp. and pressure. For heat exchanger housings exposed to a liquid or gas at high press. and at temp. of about 400 degrees C. For air conditioning systems, and combustion engines.
