Abstract

A moisture detector for use in the beds of incontinent patients has a signalling circuit which is closed by moisture acting on contacts. The contacts are working contacts which are held against spring force in a rest position by moisture-sensitive material such as paper. The moving parts of the contacts are pref. hairpin-shaped springs with contact lugs on their free ends. Pref. the parts of the springs near the lugs are rounded and in the rest position in the detector a paper sleeve fits over the rounded parts. Pref. the detector housing is in two parts with a baseplate having a raised edge. The paper used to hold the moving contacts is pref. toilet paper.
