Abstract

The life saving chute suitable for admitting escaping persons from various storeys of a building comprises a number of descending passages (10, 13) each composed of a flexible tubular member (18) and a bottom member (19). The passages are disposed in a plurality of vertical columns (14, 15). Each pair of passages, adjoining each other as upper and lower passages, are disposed in different ones of the columns and have an interconnecting opening (21) for permitting escaping persons to move from an upper to a lower one of the passages.
