Abstract

A fishing line float has a tube (2) with a top cap (5). The fishing line is attached (10) to this and a hole (13) is incorporated on the underside of the cap. One end of an elastic material (15) is attached to this hole, together with a length of line (17). Both are joined lower down, threaded into the tube and held by a rod (34). The other end of the line has a loop (23) for the hook. A float (25) slides over the outside of the tube. When a fish bites, it is pulled down against a coil spring (28). This releases the elastic material which embeds the hook in the fish's mouth.
