Abstract

The surf board is equipped with a mast and sail and has an anti-skid surface over the area round the mast and sides. The mast (5) has a sleeve (18) covering a recess in the mast at each side. Side strips (16) fit into these recesses and are hinged on a swivel pin (13) in a U-sahped bracket (11) on top of the surf board. The swivel pin (13) passes through the centre of a square section rocker beam (15) with the mast side strips (16) attached to its ends. The sleeve (18) has vertical slots, one at each side, through a pin is inserted to retain the sleeve on the mast. The mast can be quickly hoised or unstepped by sliding the sleeve to retain or release the side pieces. The boom has eyelets and cords which are used to alter the sail tension, its surface also being contoured for improved grip.
