Abstract

The supports are used for breeding mussels and are made from plastic or other material impervious to seawater. Each support is preferably cylindrical with open ends to permit an unobstructed flow of water through the interior. Each support has a pair of holes at one or both ends, and used to suspend it from a bar on a chain. Several bars are spaced along the chain, each having upturned ends to prevent slipping of the supports. The mussels live on the outside of the supports and each support can be removed or replaced without disturbing the others.
