Abstract

The time or clock pulse control system is for a digital data transmission system with a number of exchanges, and each exchange has a control clock pulse generator and at least one high speed multiplexer. At least one terminal or subscriber station has a clock pulse generator, a high and low speed multiplexer and a time division switch. A microwave long distance transmission line connects the exchanges, through which one master clock pulse generator supplies timing signals to all the other slave clock generators. The terminal or subscriber stations are arranged in tandem, and the master clock pulse generator is provided in a station which is at least in the middle of the chain.
