Abstract

The pref. linking gp. is - (where A and B = (m)ethyl, or are bonds to the mineral; n = 2-4). The enzymes are either oxidoreductases or hydrolases. The prods. are biological catalysts and are very stable on storage. In an example silica was treated with (C2H5O)3SiCH2CH2-CH2-pC6H4NH2 at 140 degrees C for 6 hrs. Then diazotised and treated with urease soln. for 48 hrs. at 2 degrees C. 50% of the urease was taken up by the silica and it could not be washed out.
