Abstract

The handle (2) of the spoon is made by curving a strip into the shape of a flat arc, this being done in the plane of the sides. The spoon bowl (3) is formed at one end of this curved shape and the final form is made by twisting the flat strip on itself by approximately 180 deg. to bring the underside of the strip at the bowl end to form the top surface of the handle at the holding end (1). The curved arc shape is still retained. This brings the holding end in line with the spoon bowl and provides improved grip.
