Abstract

The vehicle warning horn has a pot shaped metal casing (11), with a membrane (12) fixed across the top of the casing (11) and carrying an armature (13) co-operating with an excitation winding (14), to vibrate the membrane (12). The latter is covered by a flat plate (19) with a central opening and to which a plastics horn (21) is fixed. The plate (19) has a peripheral collar (24), enclosing the peripheral edge (12a) of the membrane (12) and locating beneath the rim (11a) of the casing (11). The plate is pref. of thermoplastics, with the peripheral collar bent around the edge (12a) of the membrane (12) while being heated so as to have the same geometric configuration as the latter.
