Abstract

Diagnostic reagent carrier for 'dip-read' testing of biological liq. is new comprising a synthetic, inverse phase polymeric carrier in which is incorporated a reagent or system of reagents sensitive to the substance to be detected in biological fluids. Arrangement provides relatively high absorptive power due to high vol. of interstitial pores; the carrier is of more constant reproducibility than a paper support; it will give a result after immersion in a liquid to be tested for one minute; it can be used in whole blood samples and interference by red blood cells is minimized.
