Abstract

An electronic signal demodulator is used to obtain firstly the fundamental frequency then to demodulate the signal. It is used with magnetic compass flux gates as fitted to navigation systems of aircraft. The unit (A) is connected to a flux gate. It has a Scott transformer which changes three signals into two signals. One of the signals is taken to a narrow-band filter centered on the fundamental frequency, and then to a synchronous demodulator to obtain a signal which is fedback through a modulator. An accurate signal is obtained and supplied to another modulator, and then to a power amplifier. The second signal is modified by a circuit which has the same elements as the first circuit. The two signals from the amplifiers are changed into three signals by a Scott transformer. These signals are used in a unit.
