Abstract

The damper is intended for controlling the operation of earth-moving machines such as graders in order to ensure the correct height and angle of the grading blades with respect to the ground. The damper housing (11) has a central shaft (12) running in bearings (15, 38). The end bearing (15) is mounted in the end cover (13) which carries a permanent magnet (19). The middle portion of the shaft (12) carries a damping mass (22) mounted on bearings (23) and enclosed in a housing (21) with a small radial clearance. The housing (21) is filled with hydraulic fluid which damps the oscillations of the mass (22) caused by relative motion between shaft (12) and the main housing (11).
