Abstract

Insecticidal compsns. for use against cockroaches consist of a water-soluble insecticide, e.g. an organophosphorus film-forming cpd., pref. a urea-formaldehyde resin. Pref. the compsns. consists of 100 pts. wt. crystalline, water-soluble insecticide; 100-300 pts. wt. film-forming cpd. and 1000-2500 pts wt H2O. In an example a compsn. consisted of 100 pts. wt. crystalline industrial organophosphorus insectide and 150 pts wt. urea formaldehyde resin. It was diluted to 600 g/l and sprayed on to walls and floors and any cracks of a building which was then infested with adult cockroaches. After one month no insects were present and protection was maintained for more than a year.
