Abstract
The formation of sediments on walls of apparatus used as reactors or heat exchangers, in the chemical and petrochemical industry is prevented by bringing the solid particles, which are fed into a liquid stream to be processed, into a pseudo-fluidised condition, using the stream of the processing medium. The fluidised particle stream is imparted a velocity lower than that required for their washing away. The prticles must be inert with respect to the processed medium. The apparatus housing may contain parallel tubes ending in tube plates with inlet and outlet branches for the processed medium. A gid supports the solid particles above the inlet branch, and uniformly distributes the processed medium flow.
