Abstract

The dummy unit has a front face, walls and a rear face and is made from an insulating plastic. The unit fills the vacant slots left in electrical equipment racks where electronic units etc. are normally mounted for use and spaced by the racking component pieces. The front and rear surfaces are designed to engage with rails and support components of the rack in the same manner as the equipment modules themselves. The unit has a hollow open wall construction to reduce weight.
