Abstract

The magnetic tape recording unit records the electrocardiogramme signals onto magnetic tape and a reading unit reads the stored signals and transmits them to an output terminal, whereby the electrocardiogramme signal from the patient is preamplified (8) then modulated (3) into square wave impulses of constant reproducible duration, with respect to pulse width, and stored on the magnetic tape. After read-out from the magnetic tape these square wave pulses are demodulated in a demodulator circuit according to their pulse width so that the recovered electrocardiogramme signal is present in its original form as a demodulated product at the output terminal. Preferably the magnetic tape is in mini-cassette and the preamplifier (8) is of different type.
